Our Essence Lies in the Devotion to Century-Old Vineyards lovingly tended and respected through generations, we own nine hectares of vineyards over a century old—the heart of our history. Each vine tells a story of the past that will endure into the future, adding a unique dimension to our wines.
The story of Tritium was born out of a personal affection for these vineyards—plots that never joined the two major mass uprootings in La Rioja: the first during the 1960s and 1970s, driven by the mechanization of viticulture, and the second during the 1980s and 1990s, prompted by the arrival of multinational corporations in the sector.
With a clear commitment to honoring the finest grapes from century-old vines, the idea of crafting artisanal, earth-conscious wines took shape. This project became the tangible expression of a deep-rooted winemaking tradition, carried forward by five generations of the same family dedicated to viticulture in Cenicero and Tricio.

Innovation is a fundamental pillar at Bodegas Tritium, where each wine is a reflection of our relentless pursuit of excellence and uniqueness. We seek to preserve the use of traditional winemaking techniques, honoring the rich winemaking heritage that precedes us, while at the same time trying to experiment with new avant-garde approaches.
Our passion for innovation leads us to explore different winemaking methods, from aging in amphorae, which recaptures techniques from over two thousand years ago, to some as novel as underwater aging. In a constant search for excellence in our wines, we also conduct studies with major French cooperage brands and analyze a wide variety of fermentation vessels to extract the maximum potential from our grapes.
This meticulous approach has resulted in wines that have received international critical acclaim, standing out not only for their quality, but also for their distinctive character.
Nuestra pasión por la innovación nos lleva a explorar diferentes métodos de elaboración, desde la crianza en ánforas, que recupera técnicas de hace más de dos mil años, hasta algunas tan novedosas como crianzas submarinas. En una búsqueda constante de la excelencia en nuestros vinos, realizamos también estudios con grandes marcas de tonelerías francesas y analizamos una amplia variedad de recipientes de fermentación para extraer el máximo potencial de nuestras uvas.
